one-day healing retreats

Here at Well Nest we’re very excited to now offer day-long retreats! Our half-day healing workshops over the past several years have been very popular and folks write in to tell me how helpful and enjoyable these experiences are. The retreats give us an opportunity to use successful elements from the workshops, and expand them into longer versions, giving us the luxury to use and share with each other an ever-evolving array of healing and wellness concepts for mind, body and spirit. Each retreat includes some “basics” of healing, so you can become familiar and comfortable with them, and so you can learn to use your favorites at home. And then each retreat presents new topics for contemplation and discussion, and new healing modalities, so that you can continually learn and find what works best for you. The retreats are offered on a monthly, or every-other month basis, depending on the season.

Like our wellness workshops, our day-long retreats offer various combinations of the following healing modalities:
  • Easy, gentle physical warm-ups that include movement from T’ai Ji, Spring Forest Qigong, and a touch of beginning yoga.
  • Gentle energy-healing movements and exercises, inspired by the ancient healing arts of Qigong and Reiki
  • Breathing exercises and techniques for balance, well-being, and relaxation.
  • Lots of guided meditation, using lots of nature-inspired imagery.
  • Meditative journeys that borrow wisdom from ancient civilizations through modern culture.
  • Exploration of the art of letting go/releasing.
  • Exploration of the law of attracting/allowing.
  • The power of gratitude and forgiveness.
  • Interconnectedness … with ourselves, each other, nature, Spirit/the Divine, and all living creatures.
  • Connecting with internal truths … gentle exploration of personal issues … improving our understanding of relationships of all kinds.
  • Gathas and other pearls of wisdom from diverse cultures, sages from the past as well as people who inspire us in our modern world.
  • Small group discussions and explorations on diverse topics such as love, self-care and self-healing, mindfulness, personal growth, connecting with the Divine/Spirit/Source/the God of your understanding, relationships, self-esteem, empowerment, and much more.
  • “Earthing” and walking meditation.

Healing Retreats Tea HouseWith the luxury of spending the day together, we have time to explore these diverse issues, in small and large group settings. It’s also important to carve out some time for quiet reflection, contemplation, and processing. Along with the healing spaces in Well Nest, we now have a wonderful outdoor, fully screened-in enclosure called the “tea house,” where meditation, small groups discussions, and relaxed social time can take place tucked right up against the trees, inviting Mother Nature to join us!

The day-long retreats usually last 5 – 6 hours, starting at noon. All you need to bring is a mid-afternoon snack, and wear comfortable clothing. And don’t be surprised if you’re invited to stay a bit longer and enjoy some dark chocolate and red wine or apple cider … perhaps around a small bonfire, weather permitting. (We here at the Nest consider a little red wine and dark chocolate to be staples of a healthy diet. That’s our story and we’re sticking to it!)
